Step 1:

First, the chipped area has to be cleaned with glass cleaner and give it some time to dry. When the area has dried, place a rag under the affected area for catching any resin that comes from the DIY kit.

Step 2:

Open the kit, it has an adhesive disc. It has to be placed in the center of the chip and tab of the disc should be pointing at you. The pedestal form the kit should be placed on the tab.

Step 3:

The syringe has to be opened and has to be placed in the pedestal. Pull out the plunger from the syringe and release it. The compound will be forced into the chip. The process must be generally done about ten times. However the brand may vary.

Step 4:

Give some time of about half an hour for the repaired area to dry under the sun. Then the air bubbles have to be checked. If they are present, more compounds have to be placed into the area.

Step 5:

Remove the syringe to finish the process. Then the disc and pedestal and disc have to be removed with razor. If any repair compound still remains, use the razor to clean it off but be careful not to scratch the glass.

Repairing the windshield will make you satisfied that you have saved couple of hundred dollars. Once you know the technique to repair a chipped windshield and you have the repair kit, you wouldn’t have to worry about it getting damaged.
